W & H Marriage & Sons is looking for a flour Marketing Executive at our offices in Chelmsford city centre, Essex.

Company Profile:

Marriage’s is a milling company, owned and run by the fifth and sixth generation of the Marriage family. Marriage’s supply quality flour to bakeries, manufacturers and caterers and produce a wide range of award-winning home baking flours. Our Chelmsford site has 100 employees across the office, mills and transport fleet.

The Role:

You will promote Marriage’s brand flours, build brand awareness with consumers and help promote Marriage’s customers to consumers.

Key tasks:

  • Developing and updating the flour websites, including writing website copy
  • Updating and maintaining Marriage’s flour stockists database, including contacting existing and potential stockists
  • Writing and uploading social media content, including sourcing imagery
  • Answering trade and consumer enquiries via phone, email and social media
  • Coordinating the design, production and distribution of marketing materials
  • Booking advertisements in trade and consumer press and amending advert artwork
  • Organising and staffing photo shoots, trade exhibitions and consumer shows
  • Helping to undertake market research projects, including data handling
  • Input into recipe writing and development for bakeries and consumers
  • Organising the distribution of samples to journalists and other interested third parties
  • Staying up-to-date on trends and marketing to identify PR opportunities
  • Filing marketing materials, data management and other admin tasks as required

The Person:

Essential:

  • Experience of copy writing marketing materials
  • Experience of writing social media content
  • Experience of liaising with external providers, including designers
  • Experience of working independently and within a small team
  • IT literate in Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Creative, flexible and willing to learn
  • Strong interest in, and enthusiasm for, baking and food, as well as commercial awareness
  • Minimum 1-2 years marketing experience

Desired:

  • Experience of using InDesign or Photoshop
  • Experience of working in a food marketing environment
  • Relevant degree or equivalent in English, business/management, marketing or Food Studies
