Area Sales Manager – Garden Products/Seasonal Items

£30-35,000 Basic, Bonus, Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Our Client supplies a range of garden & seasonal items.

A vacancy has arisen for an Area Sales Manager to develop business with Garden Centres, Online retail & hardware stores covering a large area across the Midlands/South.

This particular vacancy is to cover the central area ( Sheffield furthest North, Great Yarmouth farthest East Coast, Aberystwyth on the West Coast, Milton Keynes furthest South ), however they really want somebody who is based central to the area, ideally living somewhere between Coventry and Northampton

Accounts – a mixture of independent and national garden centres, multiple retailers, online e-commerce accounts, hardware stores.  

Our Client is looking for the following in candidates (  in order of priority ) ;

. Either Garden Furniture experience or Christmas/Seasonal Products experience ( one or the other would be fine, both would be a bonus ) Garden furniture would be the best

. Garden centre experience ( this can be decent sized independents or small groups. Exposure to small group business would be a bit of a bonus, but not essential ).

Remuneration - Position will attract £30k to £35k basic ( probably nearer the £30k - £33k mark in reality, but £35k for the finished article ) and include 10% OTE + 1% commission (uncapped) for all sales exceeding budget, £450 PCM car allowance (to include maintenance), company pension , company credit card, fuel card, Ipad, phone, laptop etc. 

Experience – They are looking for a high calibre, tenacious individual with a proven track record of managing key accounts within this territory ( Key Independent Garden Centres ) and preferably sold Garden Furniture.   Target individual needs to be able to demonstrate how they have grown an account (preferably from scratch) and managed continuity and increased sales over a number of year/s.

Our Client is looking for somebody who can demonstrate both good new business skills as well as an ability to retain and manage the existing business. Both of these are important.

Ideal characteristics – dedicated, enthusiastic, hardworking, works well under own initiative and equally as part of a team, self-motivated, go getter.
