Packaging Buyer | Fruit | Spalding

Our client are an international fruit marketing and distribution Company specialising chiefly in the supply of fruit to major UK multiple retailers. They source products globally ensuring continuity of supply all year round. They are looking for a packaging buyer to join the team to manage the flow of packaging material within the business from supplier through the stock system to the final product.

The Role

Be confident that your supply chain in running smoothly from Purchasing, Inventory, Stock Management, Assist Product Design to Delivery.
Check and double check the company procedures in relation to receipt of product are maintained, and all products are checked against specifications and booked in correctly.
Manage stock control and movements on a daily basis.
Make sure any issues are dealt with efficiently and by the right manager.
Keep your area tidy so that stock is easily located.
Assist the Commercial teams.
Work with the Materials Development Manager to provide total business requirements.
Be hygienic and make sure everyone else is.
Identify areas of improvement, opportunity and innovation and tell the relevant people of your bright ideas!


The Candidate

You must have previous experience in the purchasing or supplier management within a FMCG business
Problem solve and make decisions with ease and confidence
Understand the need for Lean
Work well in a team
Organised and tidy (it makes the job a lot easier for everyone else)
Excellent communication skills
Responsible and reliable
