I am currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading destination retail businesses. My client is a multi-award winning privately owned business, that prides itself on being able to provide a truly unique experience for customers. Operating across three large sites, the company and is well known for supplying a wide range of original and high quality products.

Based from their key retail site  in the South East, my client is now looking to appoint a Category Manager responsible for the a number of areas including Gift and Leisure.

As part of a small, closely knit business unit, you must be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in with the rest of the team. Reporting to the directors of the business you need to have a natural credibility and authority, and be someone who can operate at all levels of seniority comfortably.

Ideally you will have worked in a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Category Manager role for a similar retail business and have experience of managing a broad range of categories. You could be someone who is looking to make a step up, or equally you may be in a similar role but looking for a role in a less corporate environment, where you can really impact on the success of a business. You will have strong commercial awareness and a natural creative edge, with the ability to spot future trends and take action accordingly.

This role is UK based, with travel to UK and international trade shows and suppliers.
