Field Sales Development Manager

Authenticate Information Systems Ltd provides the market-leading and rapidly-growing SAAS (web-based software as a service) platform to the Food Industry.

Its clients already include many of the UK's leading food retailers, including Tesco, Waitrose and The Co-operative, together with more than 300 of the UK’s and Europe’s largest food manufacturers. 

The Company is rapidly growing its sales and client management team in line with current demand for its services, combined with exciting and ambitious growth plans.

Recent food scandals, increasing compliance requirements and new legislation, such as the Modern Slavery Act, means mapping complete supply chains back to source is no longer a voluntary option for food businesses.

The Authenticate collaborative platform is unique and is fast becoming the industry solution to this ever-increasing requirement and the future is very exciting.

About the Role

Working in a dynamic environment, the role requires the ability to develop key clients on a consistent basis.

Sound knowledge and a passion for the food industry is vital. Equally important is that candidates demonstrate strong sales and client management skills and working to meet monthly sales targets.

Whilst the role is field-based and involves client meetings around the country, the candidate must be within commutable distance of our sales office in Bedford and will be expected to be in the office at least 2-3 days per week. 

As well as strong sales skills, you will need good client management skills and will be used to a target driven environment.  

You will be responsible for delivering and producing forecasts, contributing towards budget formation, and maintaining full accountability for all commercial activity via contact reports and maintenance of the CRM database.  

Whilst the candidate will ideally have existing technical contacts within the food industry and will be expected to prospect for new clients, the company already has a significant pipeline of sales prospects, which the successful candidate will be expected to convert and build relationships with.

You be comfortable discussing all aspects of Technical, Risk, Procurement & Category, Sustainability & CSR. 

About you

  • Previous commercial experience within the food industry
  • Proven experience of working within a sales environment
  • Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills
  • Creative in overcoming objections
  • Confident in making presentations and producing written reports
  • Quality focused and commercially minded
  • Work on own initiative, is flexible, positive and confident
  • IT literate - proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point and CRM Dynamics.
