Business Development Manager – Community Housing Specification (South East)

This position is a high profile specification sales role in the South East to defend our core existing business, develop growth through new business and deliver sales results against company targets within the Community Housing Sector. Your main clients will be local authorities and housing associations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trust and strong working relationships with key influencers and specifiers across the sector. E.g. Asset Managers, Technical Officers, Contractors, Occupational Therapists etc.
  • Respond effectively to client / contractors service requests in a timely manner focussed on the end user.
  • Manage and develop strong business plans for the sales territory design to achieve target.
  • Manage and develop strong working relationships across the supply chain ASM’s, estimators and sector managers.
  • Manage and administrate contract support within authority levels.
  • Manage and develop strong working relationships within key departments that support the Community Housing Sector e.g. service, planners, product managers and channel marketing.
  • Feedback market intelligence in terms of competitors, product, and market needs and trends to internal managers and departments.
  • Raise installation standards & knowledge across DLO’s & External Contractor via “Tool Box Training”.
  • Develop robust journey plans to maximise contact surface across influencers, specifiers, supply chain contacts supporting the Kohler Mira Key Account Team.
  • Maintain and keep up to date all area client / customer records held on company databases.
  • Budget responsibility.

Skills / Requirements

Ideally educated to degree level (but not essential) with sales experience and a proven track record of delivering strong results.   

Interpersonal skills required:

  • Must have excellent communication skills to be able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Must have strong persuasive and presentation skills.
  • Must have a good technical ability & understanding.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must use their initiative and be forward thinking
  • Prior experience of sector would be ideal but not essential.
