Job Title:  Retail Category Marketing Manager

Location: Liverpool

Salary: Up to £40,000 plus car allowance, private healthcare and generous pension

Joining the UK Commercial team, we are searching for a Retail Category Marketing Manager for this really interesting and thriving food manufacturing business based in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Head of Retail, this person will be responsible for managing and delivering the marketing strategy across all of their product categories in all of their retail channels. This is a full marketing mix role and ideally we are looking for an experienced marketer with experience of working within FMCG and specifically food manufacturing. This is a great role for someone looking to gain experience across brands, own label, category and insights.

The Role:

  • Develop market – led category solutions, propositions and rationale working in conjunction with cross functional product management teams and the Head of Retail.
  • Manage and deliver the marketing strategy in order to achieve business objectives within the retail channels.
  • Co-ordinate strategic channel campaigns and marketing activity.
  • Create and control all channel customer marketing communications relating to launches, activity, promotions, content, market insights and digital communications and campaigns.
  • Develop a trade promotional plan.
  • Cultivate preferred category advisor status with all of their major retail partners.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head of Brand and marketing team to lead and embed plans and activity for the brand and private label.
  • Analyse and evaluate all promotional investment versus ROI and results.
  • Responsible for all channel specific marketing spend.

The Responsibilities:

  • An experienced Marketer with a particular expertise in Brand and Product management within a retail environment.
  • Educated to degree level and ideally with a CIM diploma.
  • Strong working knowledge of using market data and insights.
  • Highly commercial and able to produce commercial proposals.
  • Proven experience of managing and launching NPD.
  • Able to manage external marketing agencies.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build strong cross functional relationships.
  • Able to work independently to consistently high standards.
