Graduate Assistant Buyer

Our client is a leading player in the cut flowers market and is really looking to significantly grow its business over the next few years. As a result they need to appoint an assistant buyer to assist them in buying packaging and other 'non flower' raw materials.

Reporting in to the Procurement Manager, the role will be to assist the buying process, the day to day scheduling, ordering of all products whilst fulfilling orders and keeping waste to a minimum, and generally helping the buying team in the delivery of their goals.

Responsibilities
*Issuing weekly orders to suppliers in a timely manner along with the creation of purchase order numbers.
*To ensure all supplier prices and proformas are completed and issued on time each week with the correct information supplied by customer managers and the procurement team.
*Maintaining stock on a daily basis and updating the stock board whilst developing new processing integrating the ERP system.
*Daily communication with suppliers and operations insuring orders are covered at the lowest cost to the business.
*Working with the procurement team in the monitoring of supplier performance and reporting to the business.
*Daily monitoring of waste and stock levels keeping stock to a correct level. Monitoring stock rotation throughout the business working on a First in First out system

Ideally with a year or so experience in a similar environment this role will probably appeal, or alternatively you may have recently graduated and you are looking for your first opportunity in a purchasing environment. Either way this role will challenge you as the business is fast moving, dynamic and demanding.
