Telephony Team Leader - Investec

This is the ideal opportunity for a candidate to demonstrate and develop their skills in a fast paced, specialist sector of the financial services industry.

The role is based in our Glasgow Head Office, helping to manage a team of Telephone Account Managers who build and develop relationships with their own panel of Financial Advisers through a mix of inbound and outbound calls.

This role involves the day to day oversight of the sales team - supporting the Sales and Relationship Manager with implementation and execution of sales strategies, coaching and development of Telephone Account Managers for the account to ensure we deliver maximum value to our client.

Job Description
  • Lead a team of Telephone Account Managers by setting direction in line with the sales team's objectives
  • Develop, lead, motivate and appraise your team to achieve agreed objectives
  • Assisting the Sales Manager in overseeing team performance by tracking results against agreed KPI targets, regular performance reviews and pro-actively managing performance issues
  • Develop the skills and results within your team through close leadership, coaching, clear objective setting and leading by example
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of the team
  • Ensure the sales team operates in a compliant way with high business standards at all times.

  • Ability to inspire and coach others
  • Ability to empathise, with a genuine interest in developing the potential of colleagues
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Clear operational vision with the ability to prioritise
  • The desire to progress in a line manager role
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework as it applied and strong attention to detail on high quality business standards
  • Knowledge of the specific sector is an advantage.



You will possess excellent presentation and organisational skills. You will be highly pro-active and motivated by targets and have excellent listening and targeted questioning skills.

Some previous experience of working in a telephony sales environment and or managing and leading teams is desirable but not essential.
