CSG Talent has been asked to search for a Retail Marketing Manager for this highly innovative branded and private label food manufacturer. Supplying the major multiple supermarkets and some food service customers with their products, 2016 will see the launch of plenty of NPD into the market. As a Retail Marketing Manager, this is a hybrid role bridging the gap between commercial sales, marketing, category and the NPD function.  You will need to be able to present compelling category stories in this customer facing role.

An understanding of brands is essential and ideally you will have some knowledge of how the NPD function works as the business is very innovation led. This is a highly collaborative position with plenty of cross functional working. The role is to be office based in Manchester and there will be some travel to the retailers.

The Role:                                                                                                                                                

  • Manage and develop the businesses category management toolkit.
  • Utilise the full suite of insights to build a compelling commercial rationale as to why their products should be included within the customer’s portfolio.
  • Creation of clear and robust annual marketing plans by customer to include key customer metrics, communication plans and promotional strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the NPD function to translate customer and category needs into product solution.
  • Keep an eye on trends and potential gaps within the category.
  • Play a key role in the development of the businesses licensed portfolio.

The Candidate:

  • Previous Category and Marketing experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Able to generate insights and use key category tools such as Kantar, Epos and Gap analysis.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Able to build strong cross functional relationships.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at any one time.
  • Highly creative.
