Reporting to: - Head of Sales 

Lily’s Headquarters: - North West London - Swiss Cottage. Field travel will be required

Your role at Lily’s Kitchen: -

As a Sales Manager you will manage and grow the independent sales channel, the homeland of Lily’s Kitchen.  

Reporting into a Head of Sales and managing a team of 9 you will be a sales connoisseur and have a natural flair when it comes to managing and motivating a sales team of passionate and driven individuals 

How will I make a difference? 

You will: - 

  • Act as an ambassador for Lily’s Kitchen within independent sector – the homeland of Lily’s sector
  • Grow the Lily’s Kitchen presence within the Independent sector across the country – stores, retailers
  • Inspire, motivate, and lead the Independent Sales and Customer Care teams
  • Manage and deliver results for the Independent Sales channel through the team
  • Develop and encourage the sales team through creative, innovative thinking, incentives and competitions
  • Coach the sales team through their development and journey at Lily’s Kitchen
  • Drive and run the independent sales through pet specialists, independent stores, and non-traditional stores i.e. butchers, delicatessens, garden centre
  • Deliver a creative and innovative approach to sales
  • Ability to analyse, review and quantify performance on weekly, monthly metrics to provide to Head of Sales
  • Maintain and keep up to date with external market awareness, in order to identify commercial opportunities
  • Key member and player within the wider sales team (UK grocery and online)
  • Adapt development of commercial proposals and negotiation according to key accounts
  • Some key account management as and when needed.

What do I need to be successful? 

  • Ideally from an FMCG background
  • Knowledge of the pet food sector 
  • Sales management experience – experience of leading and motivating a team to deliver results
  • Traditional sales techniques – recognise the need, deliver a solution
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • You will be an inspirational leader and have proven experience of leading and coach a high performing team
  • It goes without saying that you need to have a PFP (passion for pets) 
  • Ability to inspire and develop a team of passionate individuals 
  • Set clear and concise growth objectives and support to achieve

  • Its fast paced here at Lily’s Kitchen so you will need to have worked in a similar environment
  • You will have strong Microsoft Office and in particular Excel (intermediate level)
  • First class communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with other Lily’s Kitchen employees, your customer and others at all levels.
  • Has natural planning and organisation skills 
  • The ability to use your initiative – being a self-starter with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and the desire to grow others 
  • Build honest and genuine relationships quickly 
  • Clean driving licence and car required
