NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER - PRIVATE LABEL

SHS Sales & Marketing is the UK’s market-leading, privately-owned, sales and marketing outsourcing company. Part of the SHS Group it continues to grow both organically and through the acquisition of new clients and brands. The company’s  Private Label division supplies a growing portfolio of own label products across ambient categories in all trade channels including Grocery Multiples, Convenience Retail, Wholesale and Foodservice.

We are now seeking a National Account Manager or Business Development manager with previous own -label commercial sales experience to develop our range of products to the next level. The customer base is broad and will include a mix of Grocery Multiples, High Street Discounters, Convenience Retailers and Wholesalers.

Your remit will be to manage the commercial interface between the business and the customer and all that entails. This will include a mix of existing business and seeking out new business development opportunities so you will need to possess  both “hunting” and “farming” attributes to be successful.

The role is high profile and you will work closely with colleagues in Category and Customer Marketing, NPD,  Finance and Manufacturing as well as senior management. Your performance has a direct impact on the development and profitability of the business so you’ll have plenty to do.  In addition to this you will be part of a company that supports and develops its people so there will be future opportunities for you, too. 

Of graduate calibre you’ll need previous FMCG sales experience at NAM or BDM level  gained in an own-label food or drink environment. Whilst your specific trade channel experience is less important you will possess a real passion for building business, you will be commercially astute, financially savvy and have an in-depth understanding of own-label NPD and manufacturing processes combined with an engaging personality and real drive to get things done.

The job role is home based (flexible)  but will require regular travel across the UK customer base.
