Working for a leading Global Blue Chip FMCG food manufacturer as part of the Multi-Channel Marketing team, and in partnership with the commercial and customer marketing teams, you will establish customer-specific digital and convenience channel strategies which will be effective at driving growth, and will ensure that the annual volume, profit & market share targets are met.

The role:

You will be the champion for the dot.com and convenience store channels within the accounts you manage and build relationships both internally and externally to maximise company share of the growth available in these routes to market.

You will have access to a wealth of data sources, including retailer audits, Kantar, IRI, DunnHumby, LMG and EPOS Data, from which category insights can be drawn, enabling product, promotional and ranging recommendations, which will cover the short term tactics & the longer term customer category planning.

  • Devise, lead and implement customer strategies through the identification of key category growth drivers
  • Work alongside the Senior Insight, and the Senior Category Managers to ensure that there is a rolling program of qualitative & quantitative research for the categories & retailers you work with – ensuring that we put the customer at the heart of everything that we do.
  • Presenting and communicating category knowledge in an insightful and user friendly format both internally and externally, both routinely and ad hoc
  • Work with Commercial managers to ensure all accounts have plans that cater to the multi-channel shopper and recognise the importance of online and c-stores to our business
  • Input to range reviews and category reviews as appropriate using insight to meet the needs of the dot.com shopper

Skills required:

  • Previous Marketing / Category experience within a consumer business ideally FMCG
  • Passion for and understanding of the .com channel within retail
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and identify trends – and must “enjoy” deriving insights from data
  • An understanding of, and be able to interpret and explain marketing data sources such as  Kantar / IRI / Dunnhumby etc
  • Ability to present and comment on complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to proactively lead an agenda, and influence, and lead cross functional teams
  • Must have strong numeracy skills – and be commercially astute
  • A lateral thinker who, creates innovative solutions to “issues” – demonstrating initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure – whilst still delivering a high attention to detail
  • Personable with the aptitude to listen and learn.
  • Good organisational and project management skills.

This role will be customer facing and as such will require a level of travel, therefore full driving license and willingness to travel is essential
