Senior National Account Manager – Foodservice (Airline Catering)

£60-65,000 Basic, 10% Bonus + Benefits

Our Client supplies meals for the Travel sector and they want a Senior NAM/ Commercial Manager to take on the management of a small portfolio of UK and European based airlines.

The job holder’s brief will be to significantly increase sales within the airline channel over the course of the next two years. The industry and the channel is pregnant with potential, so this should be easily achievable by a good, solid, hard working sales person. The current portfolio is easy enough to manage, which means that the job holder will be able to spend about 80% of their time on opening new accounts and new business activities.

Candidates should ideally have exposure to the airline channel however our client will also consider candidates from other travel channels ( i.e. trains, and ferries etc ).

Candidates need to have an interest in food. There’s no need to come from a cheffing background although this would be a ( small ) bonus ; just a personal interest in food / cooking would be sufficient.

Category – any category but candidates with an understanding of a complex/ composite product will have a strong advantage ( eg bakery, sandwiches, ready meals etc ), as opposed to the more commodity items ( bread, milk, salt, pepper, coffee, tea etc ).

The jobholder will need to be in the office about twice a week ( South East ), but there will also be a requirement for extensive travel throughout Europe.

Living location – candidates can live anywhere within the following area ; starting at Luton, travel south east to Oxford, then south to Newbury and then Basingstoke. From Basingstoke go south west to Brighton and from Brighton go due north until you meet the M25 ( at about 6 o clock ). Follow the M25 in an anti-clockwise direction until you get to 12 o clock ( St Albans ) and then go back to Luton.

Remuneration - £60k to £65k basic plus 10% bonus. There is no car or car allowance, Obviously all business travel will be paid for on expenses.
