Your new company

A fast growing and successful retailer who have seen phenomenal growth with a huge variety of products at unbelievably good value, their success looks set to continue. Therefore, they are looking for a Buyer to join their vibrant and prosperous team. The role will be based in the Midlands and the purpose will be to source, buy, develop, and manage the product ranges within the Confectionery Category.

Your new role
you will be tasked with producing a range that is suited to the customer at the best possible price, which will mean sourcing from and negotiating with new and old suppliers both domestically and internationally to secure the best offers. The Buyer is also responsible for ensuring that the performance of their category ranges are maximised by increasing sales and improving profit margins through leading and influencing your team and other members of the department. This includes ensuring supplier and sales performance is monitored and strategic planning is developed whilst making sure all systems in place.



What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have at least 5 years experience in a retail buying role within the FMCG industry, and preferably educated to degree level. Having a good strong knowledge and awareness of the marketplace is essential for any buyer, but a good eye for detail is crucial in this role to make sure no opportunity to maximise sales is unturned. This is an extremely fast paced environment so you will need to be one step ahead at all times and often thrive under pressure. The ideal candidate will have the energy and tenacity to inspire and lead a team whilst having the ability to handle complex data and prioritise their workload
