Job Details

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Category Manager who is looking to work for perhaps three or four days a week. Our client is the leading brand within the category in which they operate and is a values driven business that prides itself on the quality of its products. The business has enjoyed some significant growth in recent years and is now looking to enter the next phase of their growth plan.

As Category Manager, you will have a strong focus on the multiple retailers and be able to create the strategic direction of the category and then implement that. You will bring the category to life in the eyes of the consumer at the point of purchase using insights to create the category vision for the brands. You will be experienced at cross functional working and be able to collaborate with both the marketing and commercial teams. 

If you are looking for a part time role then this is a great role to consider. Please note that the role will be largely office based. 

The Role:                                                                                

  • Develop and execute the annual category plan to deliver the vision, merchandising and promotional strategies.
  • Ensure the alignment of the businesses category vision with customer’s category priorities.
  • Engage in multi-level customer contact strategy to embed category expertise agenda.
  • Deliver Category Performance and Range reviews.
  • Monitoring the brand and category in terms of key customer & shopper measures.
  • Management the NPD process ensuring customer commitment and a well-executed launch.

The Requirements:

  • A strong track record of category management within a branded food manufacturing environment.
  • A great understanding of the UK multiple retailer environment.
  • Educated to degree level or the equivalent.
  • Excellent relationship building skills both internally and externally.
  • Great analytical skills and the ability to present to customers.
  • Expert user of Nielsen / IRI and Kantar databases.
  • Results driven and self-motivated.
