The Role
In order for our commercial team to achieve the sales figures expected from us they need the support of a tenacious, self-motivated, organized person who has demonstrated they are able to manage time effectively. This role is fundamental to the successful running of the business as along with preparing samples to deliver to new customers, you will work with all the account managers to gather data for NPD, complete paperwork connected to launching new product and analyse market/competitor’s information. You will also be asked to liaise with the technical and procurement teams on labeling, bar codes and packaging.
What we are looking for
This position will suit someone who is keen to start a career in the food industry or who has already some experience within a similar function. If you are passionate about cheese it would be an advantage!
In a sales environment attitude is everything, positive and proactive you will always ‘muck in’ to get a job done. It’s important to be accurate when analysing data, deliver results with a high level of accuracy, organised when prioritising your work load and polite when dealing with customers. It’s about going the extra mile, leaving your comfort zone, seeking out challenge and feeling passionate about getting the job done with minimum supervision and appreciating the commercial impact of your actions.

Company
Challenging, creative, passionate, crusading, courageous, and innovative – How do we achieve all of this? Because our business has been around for almost 130 years and our experience has resulted in us becoming the leading independent speciality cheese business in the UK, providing award winning cheeses to customers in the UK and across the globe.
As an industry leader we pride ourselves on our ability to bring fantastic products to market, in understanding the consumer and our excellent relationships with our customers. Our plan is simple, to be the most inspiring cheese business in the UK – How? By attracting only the very best people, those who are remembered, who are creative and deliver innovative solutions to their customers, inspiring our customers with our passion for cheese and creating long lasting partnerships. We attract ‘goal scorers’, team players who can transform a team from average to outstanding with a huge amount of honesty and trust. We operate with guidelines not tramlines, translating thoughts into actions, creating solutions, and taking risks while working with a high level of integrity.
We want you to challenge opinion, create what hasn’t yet been created and take products to customers that they didn’t know they wanted, only to realise they can’t live without them. As the largest privately owned cheese business in the UK there is genuine opportunity to make a difference, there are no ceilings, no locked doors and the flat management structure means that anything (within reason) is possible.
We have achieved this enviable position through responding creatively to the needs of our customers and flexing our approach as times and fashions change. With premises in Buxton, we are well positioned for all our customers and with a recent investment in new premises, offer state of the art manufacturing while remaining true to our roots.
