Ugo Foods is the UK’s number one manufacturer of premium fresh pasta and noodle products. Established in 1929, our business has been handed down through three generations of the Ugo family and today we supply many of the UK’s major grocery retailers and leading foodservice operators. Manufacturing from our state of the art production facility in Borehamwood, we supply our customers with the longest established fresh pasta brand in the UK - Dell’ Ugo, whilst also supporting customers with their own brand fresh pasta and noodles. We are an ambitious and forward thinking business with strong growth plans. As a result, we have recently secured an exciting licensed brand that will make a major impression on the category and offer our business extensive growth potential. 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, this is a senior position within Ugo Foods Group where you will take ownership of the sales department.  Your primary focus will be to launch our new licensed brand whilst also supporting the business with our Dell’ Ugo and retailer branded business. This new licensed brand is highly recognisable, offering significant potential and is already well established in other product categories.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Determine and support strategy with CEO
  • Manage, develop and lead the Sales & Marketing team
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. E.G. major retailers and operations team
  • Manage relationship with the licensor including weekly reporting
  • Interact with other licensees on joint ventures, cross category promotions and general business opportunities
  • Understand wider organisational objectives and in-line with these drive incremental business across branded and retailer brand ranges
  • Initiate, manage and implement all commercial marketing and trade activities
  • Work closely with NPD team to launch new products and manage marketing mix for licensed brand

Experience Required

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must be an ambitious, highly skilled commercial candidate with a team focused mentality.

  • Experience of managing grocery top 4 accounts at a senior level
  • Operating at either Senior National Account Manager or National Account Controller level
  • Proven track record of working with both chilled and branded food products
  • Excellent skills in people management
  • Organised and with keen attention to detail
  • Marketing experience desirable but not essential
