We are working closely with a client on this position to secure additional resource in its commercial team. Recent growth, which has come from an uplift in sales and the careful acquisition of some exciting new partners, has generated the requirement for a senior commercial professional with experience of branded products.

The ideal background for this role will be a real business developer with the ability to drive new channels with existing customers. Your engagement and stakeholder management skills will be of a particularly high standard to communicate effectively across the Group. Once you have ascertained the internal dynamics of the business and how those relate to the customer base, the focus will be on working with existing customers and delivering the next commercial phase. It sounds obvious but you must have food industry experience and dealt with the major multiples for this role.

As Interim Commercial Controller, you will be numerically strong with the ability to analyse and interpret data. Whilst there is the support from the Finance team there is a need for someone who is agile with numbers and can think on their feet when presenting to the customer and likewise, when presenting to the Board. Whilst this is clearly a senior appointment sitting on the Executive team, you need to have the practical and down to earth approach to drive the commercial growth needed.

Having worked in the food industry you will be very familiar with the manufacturing of chilled short-shelf life food for the retail sector. A real interest in food and product development is also vital for this role as it needs a passionate and enquiring mind to get 'under the skin' of this category, to convey in-depth understanding to the retailer, and drive real growth through the brands.
