Business Unit Controller - Hovis

Here at Hovis, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Unit controller within the Senior Sales team.

This is a leadership role which will help shape our continued success.

Whilst contributing to the overall commercial strategy, your key focus as part of the Hovis family, will be winning within your customer portfolio.

You will have full accountability for more than a 3rd of the Hovis business, managing a portfolio of key customers including one of the Top 5 Grocer’s manage their customer strategies, relationships and the full P&L. 

We are looking for the latest member of the Hovis Family, who will have great vision, real leadership, passion, energy, creativity and all the technical skills and experience required for this important role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Key contributor to the Senior sales team and help shape the continued success of Hovis via the overall sales and commercial strategy
  • Develop and lead the strategy with key customers.
  • Build winning relationships with your key stakeholders, internally and externally. Manage and build strong customer partnerships.
  • Creating strong and collaborative annual plans to deliver budgeted targets through excellent execution. 
  • Deliver key sales targets focused on profitability, volume delivery and Net Working Capital 
  • Negotiate with the customers for the optimum commercial delivery for Hovis on; Trade Terms, cost price, promotional funding and media spend 
  • Detailed analysis of sales and category drivers to facilitate true business understanding and to take appropriate actions to deliver an improved sales performance
  • Partner with the marketing organisation to develop customer specific business plans for new brands and categories and lead and deliver the implementation
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop a team of 3 direct reports and a much wider virtual team both within Hovis and the customers. 
  • Relentless competitive focus as part of a boarder business management approach
