Packaging Buyer

I'm currently recruiting for a Packaging Buyer to join one of the most innovative food retailers on the high street. My client is looking for a packaging expert to take on responsibility for sourcing, managing suppliers and all technical aspects of packaging whilst ensuring their products are showcased using the most innovative and up to date packaging techniques.

Packaging Buyer Responsibilities

• Source and build strong working relationships with packaging suppliers, holding regular review meetings to ensure the highest standards are achieved.
• Negotiating with suppliers to ensure our client receives optimal terms.
• Set and manage suppliers against KPIs ensuring all availability requirements are achieved.
• Manage supply base to highlight any supply risks and put in place contingency plans.
• Work closely with supply chain team to identify efficiencies that can be made.
• Be the packaging expert keeping up to date with all developments in the packaging industry.
• Manage and resolve packaging quality issues, whilst working closely with stores to ensure conformance.

To be successful as Packaging Buyer

• Food packaging experience ideally in a food to go environment.
• Supplier management experience and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work cross functionally with buying, supply chain and marketing teams.
