The Business

Our client is a leading fresh produce business who are looking to strengthen their retail facing commercial team, with the appointment of an experienced commercial manager. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for one or more of the Top 4 retailers and will be tasked with maintaining and (where possible) developing the level of business the company holds.

The Role

Building solid relationships with the senior buyers/category managers at the supermarkets and looking for ways mutually beneficial ways to develop the account
Working closely with the insight teams, ensuring recommendations are presented to the customers and appropriate actions taken where necessary
Alongside the Head of Commercial, you will be working to develop the overall strategy and ensure its implementation

The Person

Will have several years of retail account management experience, ideally in the fresh produce industry, but it could be in another fresh food sector
Will be a good negotiator with the ability to sense when to push and when to hold back
Will be comfortable working in a very fast paced environment, which has the potential to change at the drop of a hat
Will have the potential to progress further in the business and continue your own personal development
