Being a Customer Category Manager at Nestlé is about executing the category point of purchase strategy with our customers.

We’re looking for a Customer Category Manager, based in the York office, to take on the responsibility executing the category plans for some of our key customers. Our Opportunity

As a Customer Category Manager, reporting into the Lead Customer Range and Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for executing the category point of purchase strategy with our customers to ensure we achieve share and quality of space targets. You will also be running daily insight reporting your customer, highlighting key drivers both within the customer and the wider market. This role works closely with the other Customer Category Development Managers, Sales teams, CCSD Colleagues and of course our Customers.

Key aspects of the Customer Category Manager role involve:

  • Being a thought leader within your category, delivering insights to your customers, highlighting key drivers both within the customer and the wider market on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure aligned Category strategies.
  • Conducting full category range reviews across Confectionery within your customers
  • Creating tailored recommendations for category growth in your customers
  • Supporting the Sales teams with tailored insights for brand sells to your customers
  • Growing Nestle share of space and quality of space dedicated to the category in store, increasing number of points of interruption for our brands in store, and where applicable, win or maintain category captaincy agreements.

As Customer Category Manager you will ensure necessary space is achieved to prevent out of stock in store even when on promotion. You attend monthly sales reviews and provide monthly update on customer distribution risks and opportunities to align action plans. You will also support & challenge the Sales Teams on Range Reviews, Point of Purchase projects, Category sells etc.

We’re ideally looking for someone of graduate calibre who is able to demonstrate a strong numerical understanding and knowledge of how retailers manage their categories and ranges, using insight and category management principles to develop category growth plans with our customers. You will have strong excel and PowerPoint skills and have experience of working in commercial roles. This exposure of working with key retailers will lead you to be able to analyse sales data and shopper behaviour and link this into actionable insights to drive performance both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of strong stakeholder management both internally and externally. You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of customer management and be able to help customers understand consumer behaviour, insights and sales data and how merchandise planning will drive and increase sales.

You will be driven to succeed in this Customer Category Manager role with the ambition to progress your career within the Nestlé commercial team.

For the Customer Category Manager  you will have a good working knowledge of category management principles, and be able to translate data and insight into winning customer plans. A solid knowledge of the UK retailer landscape will be a key advantage.
