As one of the Europe’s leading family owned food manufacturers, my client offers a wide range of food products across the Chilled, Frozen and Ambient product categories. They have a glowing reputation in the industry and enjoy extensive national distribution across the Retail, Foodservice, Wholesale and B2B channels. Following on from an internal restructure my client is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager.

As Business Development Manager you will have full responsibility for the B2B, Contract Manufacturing and Foodservice channels. You will be tasked with developing new business as well as the maintaining the current customer accounts. Taking full P&L responsibility, you will be expected to work closely with customers and colleagues (NPD, marketing, procurement and operations) in constructing and delivering business plans, with the aim of securing new distribution of products.

The successful candidate for this position would have demonstrated an extensive track record of building successful long-term customer relationships with major food brands or foodservice contractors, with experience of working within the ambient foods sector being preferable but not essential. Experience of working with M.O.D. related business would also be an advantage.

Good face-to-face communication skills, professional attitude & manner, strong teamwork ethic, self-motivation and energy are essential qualities to be successful in this development focused role.

The position Site based from their office in North Yorkshire, you will preferably be located within the Yorkshire or North East region (ideally within one hour’s reach). With a broad customer portfolio, the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in terms of national travel and overnight stays where applicable.
