The company:

An exciting British, family owned company that manufactures and distributes a product range with strong trade identity. Customers exist in several channels – grocery, DIY, pet, garden, discounters but the company is very ambitious and has additional target customers is all areas. 

The role of National Account Manager:

Working from the office (near Old Trafford) you will work with the MD to develop a new business strategy for all established and prospect accounts.

Existing / prospect customers include grocery multiples, department stores, discounters, high street retailers and some catalogue / ecommerce businesses each of which will want something different and exclusive.

You will be closely involved with the influencers and decision makers in all of your customers – staying close to the supply chain to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working for an ambitious and results focused business that celebrates success and enjoys paying commission to reward sales achievement.

This demands a wide range of skills in account management, category management, sales presentation, negotiation and understanding of the supply chain. The company is very ambitious and the sales team has a ‘hunting’ rather than ‘farming’ attitude – this is a proactive selling role rather than a reactive account management position.

The benefits:

With a basic salary to £35,000 plus an open ended commission scheme, the job holder should be a high earner. The company also offers a quality company car (3 series BMW or similar), mobile, laptop and 21 days holiday

The person for this National Account Manager role:

The right candidate will have:

A passion for selling to major retailers with a dynamic, forward thinking approach

A home location that is commutable to Manchester

Field sales and account management experience in the pet trade is preferred

A proven track record of sales achievement as a Key Account Manager or National Account Manager

Customer contacts in one or more retail channels (grocery, department store, high street etc)

A ‘hunter’ type of character that is motivated by high performance and high earnings
