Job Details

The client is a global market leader in the Home Appliances sector and following key changes within the organisation, they are now seeking an experienced Category Manager for a 6 month project role working in their Kitchen Appliance team.

Reporting to the Category Director, you will have the objective of leaving the category/business fundamentally stronger in what it represents to the consumer. As a strategic and operational leader for the category through the application of knowledge based decision making, you will act as the central owner and coordinator of key initiatives for the Kitchen Team.

Your primary accountabilities for the duration of the contract will focus around Product Planning and understanding consumer needs through a process of market research, creative thought and knowledge of technology development and lifestyle trends as well as NPI Management by developing effective plans to manage product pricing strategies and channel plans through launch and post launch periods.

The role will also encompass Commercial Planning and you will lead the translation of marketing and commercial strategies into impactful account/customer joint growth activities. As Leader for the Category you will also manage Promotional Activity and the Budget Process by providing analysis and insight to support the Senior Category Manager and Category Director in the preparation of the medium term planning.

In order to be considered for this role, you will ideally hold a Degree or equivalent in Marketing and have circa 5 years experience within a marketing/commercial environment (experience is Product Marketing desirable). You must be able to demonstrate success in the achievement of key strategic business objectives and be used to working in an environment of high expectations and complex problems.

You must also have strong experience in project management with specific co-ordination and planning skills, ensuring strategies are developed and followed through.
