Marketing Controller

Pukka Pies are a family company with a passion for pies. They are the brand leader in both the retail and food service market. They have been consistently successful, developing organically over the last 50 years, and their products are consumed on the high street, in football and rugby stadia and at home by millions.

As a result of continued growth, they are now looking for a Marketing Controller to help further develop the brand and grow the business.

The company structure is lean and fast so your attitude and approach to work are key. The company and role will not suit an ivory tower marketer; this is somewhere to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

Your challenge is to develop strong brand plans to deliver growth - identifying insights and category growth drivers, managing a challenging innovation pipeline, delivering new packaging and product formats and driving brand activation and promotional initiatives in conjunction with the company's major customers and markets. This is a role for a marketer who is passionate about innovation and food; a marketer who understands the importance of authenticity of the brand and product quality to attracting and retaining consumer interest and engagement.

Our ideal candidate

This is a challenging and unique role, you will have a track record of driving market- beating growth in a branded food environment, with particular strengths in brand planning, above and below the line advertising, product innovation, consumer and category understanding and commercial management. You will have an excellent understanding of the grocery retail channels and ideally, experience of the wholesale, food service and independent channels.

Pukka Pies are a dynamic and successful business and this role will be challenging and demanding and so will enable the right candidate to develop their marketing and commercial skills.

The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and live within a 30 mile radius of their Leicester Head Office.
