Category Manager - M&S - Midlands - Desserts

My client is a leading food manufacturer based in the midlands who supply excellent own label dessert products to the major retailers. They have a strong established reputation and this represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to progress their career and take on an exciting opportunity. This role would involve category management of own-label desserts with a major focus on M&S. This role is on a part-time basis, with the salary up to £60K but pro rata on 3 or 4 days a week.

The Role:

• The role is an opportunity for a candidate with a strong retail category management experience
• Building and developing category knowledge to work alongside NPD and Sales teams
• Implement consumer insight led approach to commercial activities
• Build effective relationships with customer contacts to help company be seen as the supplier of choice

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of category management is necessary
• Experience within the food industry is necessary
• Strong experience of own label products are preferred

This role is on a part-time basis, with the salary up to £60K but pro rata on 3 or 4 days a week.

The role would also involve spending some time at the M&S head office so travelling to London on a regular basis. May also look at someone based in London travelling to the Midlands on occasion each week.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate food experience and good knowledge of category management with retailers.
