Marketing Manager

The Eddingtons name is synonymous with innovation and has an enviable track record of delivering great new housewares product to the UK retail market over the last fifteen years.

Founded in 2000 Eddingtons Ltd is based  in Hungerford, Berkshire and is a supplier of innovative housewares products to High Street and Independent retailers in the UK, Ireland and internationally. The business encompasses both products developed and supplied under the Eddingtons brand and also partnering with Global Brands where Eddingtons exclusively manages their sales and marketing in the UK market.  In 2013 Eddingtons launched a Catering Division responsible for the sale of our products to hotels, restaurants and catering organisations in the UK. Hundreds of new products are sourced and selected every year to be marketed and sold by the Eddingtons team to an ever increasing distribution base of retailers and caterers in the UK and internationally.

The Role:

We currently have a vacancy for a Marketing Manager. This key role is responsible for developing and implementing the Consumer and Trade Marketing plan for both our Retail and Catering Divisions. Working in conjunction with our Product Development, Packaging and Sales Team the successful candidate will actively promote both our in house designed Eddingtons’ brands and our growing portfolio of third party global brands for whom we have exclusive UK distribution.

The ideal Marketing Manager will have product and brand marketing experience gained from within the housewares, Food & Beverage or FMCG sectors. Managing all aspects of our consumer, trade and internal communication from product launch, trade show organisation and catalogue preparation through advertising to promotional activity, pricing and sales collateral material for the sales teams, this is a role calling for a wide range of skills. Additionally the Marketing Manager will coordinate and develop our online and digital strategy, maintaining our website, customer databases and all relevant social media platforms.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role involves dealing with consumers, customers and suppliers.
  • Good numerical skills 
  • Commercially aware with strong organisational skills
  • Team-working skills & ability to motivate others
  • Creative ability 
  • Energy and enthusiasm 
  • The ability to work to deadlines and cope with associated pressure
  • Represent company at Industry events, trade shows & award nights
  • Brief agencies as required- PR, creative, packaging, photography etc.
  • Event management including trade shows
  • Self-confidence to sell ideas and brief the marketing plan internally and externally
  • Good Excel spreadsheet and database experience
  • Manage company social media accounts Twitter & Facebook
  • Catalogue design software experience preferred – Adobe InDesign & Photoshop
  • Reporting into Commercial Director
