PowerBar has a wide range of products covering endurance & energy as well as muscle & strength.

The products we make are specially designed to assist with the performance needs of athletes from the elite to the everyday level and can assist with muscle development, energy, recovery, figure/toning, and general vitality.

They are distributed in over 35 countries, and the PowerBar brand has become synonymous with sports nutrition, energy and optimum performance.

Due to internal progression an exciting, new vacancy has arisen for a 

Country Sales Manager

managing PowerBar in the UK and Ireland. We have ambitious targets for this key region, and we're looking for someone who can have a tangible impact on its development and position in the marketplace. 

This challenging role involves a range of key skills, including general management, sales, marketing and people management.

As a result, we're seeking a well-rounded, driven individual who is able to operate effectively across a range of functions.

As a result, you must be able to demonstrate a number of years' experience (5+) working successfully in a similar role, preferably within an FMCG, sports or sports nutrition market. 

Tasks

  • Drive profitable growth and gain market share in the region
  • Daily leadership of the UK sales team 
  • Develop and implement a country specific strategy in sync with overall business objectives
  • Responsibility for the account management of critical UK customers including joint business planning
  • Manage top to top relationships with priority distributors, wholesalers and customers
  • Management of the P&L and marketing budgets for the region 
  • Manage annual and monthly planning processes for the region including financial and product forecasts
  • Work in partnership with HQ marketing team to delivery an effective region specific marketing plan
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • Deliver detailed and regular feedback to the wider business on the market place

Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills with solid experience of managing a cross-functional team.

You are likely to come from a key/national account management background originally, and you'll be tasked with planning and developing a local channel strategy (in line with the business model) to be implemented by the local sales teams.

Financial planning and budgeting skills are essential, and it would be helpful if you have some experience of implementing marketing strategies. 

Profile

  • Min. 5 years of experience in Key/National Account Management or Business Development
  • Experience in budgeting and sales planning 
  • Experience of developing and implementing sales and marketing plans
  • Self-motivated with strong numerical analysis skills
  • You show initiative, are pragmatic and you have a hands-on mentality 
  • A passion and understanding for the sports world and nutrition is advantageous 
  • Experience with sports distributors advantageous but not essential

The role will be based from our new offices in central Manchester and the CSM will spend approx. 60% of their time based in the office and the remaining 40% externally supporting the business at customers meetings, marketing activities and with the PowerBar UK team.

Furthermore, the role involves some international travel, mainly to Munich, Germany.
