Excellent Digital Analytics - Sales Manager opportunity with the UK's leading newspaper media group; my client are eager to speak to proven sales people with a background in online advertising, digital and online advertising analytics, and/or software sales. You will need to have a solid understanding of outlining the ROI and value proposition of online advertising packages, using technical data evidence to shape sales pitches.

Description

The Digital Analytics - Sales Manager will be responsible for Digital Commercial Partnership campaigns within the Specialist Sales department (this team sits within the their Advertising Department). Digital Commercial Partnerships cover a range of creative, performance, and brand solutions for advertisers, products and services looking to reach and engage with the group's readership. This role is a leadership position and you will inherit two direct reports of more junior members of staff.

Key responsibilities include:

* Budget delivery responsibility for Digital Commercial Partnerships within the Specialist Sales Department.
* To deliver strategy / roadmap / recommendations for driving growth and optimisation of Digital Commercial Partnerships.
* Team management of Business Development Manager and Marketing & Account Executive.
* Responsible for identifying and researching new business/sales opportunities and presenting them with the appropriate key features and benefits of the group's portfolio to secure new/additional business.
* Working closely with prospective and existing clients, you will carefully consider their marketing and brand objectives and devise / deliver appropriate media solutions (combining branding, response, reach and engagement pieces as relevant).

* You will sell a range of digital media and advertising solutions across the digital media platforms (online, mobile, tablet / mobile apps).

* You will lead negotiation of optimal commercial terms, and manage the process through to contract drafting and sign-off.
* You will proactively develop / up-sell existing client accounts and manage contract renewals / negotiations.
* You will be targeted with delivering new/additional business across a broad section of the audience sectors including: Courses, Education, Careers / Jobs, Property, Lifestyle, as well as targeted campaigns to the group's online readers based in the following territories: USA, Canada, Western Europe and Australasia.

Profile

The Digital Analytics - Sales Manager will have proven sales experience and exposure to the online advertising industry, ideally from a data and analytical stand point. You will need to be comfortable articulating the return-on-investment of a commercial advertising package in terms of conversion, website traffic, click-through-rates, and online optimisation. Outside of this, you'll need to be a consultative sales leader who has ideally managed a small team previously.

Other key competencies include:

* Inter-personal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels. Must be credible and comfortable dealing with and presenting to all levels - from junior execs to Board Directors.

* Management skills - to support and develop 2 direct reports. Setting and monitoring objectives and performance reviews.

* Excellent selling, presentation, communication and negotiation skills that allow you to inform, advise and influence others clearly and confidently - both face-to-face and over the telephone.

* You will have a good understanding of various digital commercial models including CPM, CPA, CPL, tenancy and revenue share / affiliate.

* Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to sell creative concepts. Plus you will have the ability to work on your own initiative and offer/implement new ideas.

* Time management skills that allow you to prioritise your workload and manage your own time effectively, particularly when working to tight deadlines. Plus you must be able to react calmly under pressure and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

* Ability to be flexible and comfortable in a fast-moving performance-led environment, with a personal commitment to improving one's own knowledge and skills.

* An accomplished, confident and collaborative team player.

* Understanding of web technologies and digital advertising techniques.

* Understanding of web analytics and web monitoring tools.

Job Offer
  • Salary is being pitched at the £45,000 - £50,000 Base level, plus a £5,250 car allowance, double OTE, and considerable company benefits including pension, healthcare, and gym membership. Salary details could be negotiable depending on candidate's experience.
