Category Executive

The business has doubled in size every year since their inception, they are now available in a host of leading retailers and are predicting that this will be their year!

The Category Executive role has come up due to an internal move and you will be the expert in category, shopper and consumer data in order to identify new opportunities for the business.

The key responsibilities will be:

• Develop short and long term category strategies based on the market
• Lead category range reviews, providing insight driven product ranging & merchandising solutions for our customers
• Build strong relationships with retail buying teams through providing objective & insightful shopper led recommendations as to how they can maximise category growth
• Provide strategic insight led recommendations for sales & marketing initiatives such as NPD launches
• Manage the insight budget, make recommendations on most efficient use of spend across category, shopper & consumer continuous & ad hoc data/research
• Build strong relationships with data agencies in order to deliver maximum value to the business
• Understand the consumer needstates & occasions
• Make recommendations on research techniques that maximise consumer/shopper understanding

As you can see this is a really broad role within the business where you will have exposure to category, shopper and continuous data as well as managing ad hoc and continuous projects. To apply for this role we are ideally looking for people with the following skills and experience:

• A background in Category Management or Insight
• A 2(i) degree (or equivalent) with a good academic track record
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data
• Exposure to EPOS, shopper and consumer data
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver impactful presentations
• Good relationship building skills
