The Amathus Drinks Group, which includes recently acquired Bablake Wines Ltd, is a fast growing, privately owned, drinks distributor, importer and specialist retailer with turnover in excess of £60m, a staff count of over 200 employees. Our direct serviced distribution area now covers most parts of England and Wales.

Responsible to the Managing Director and primarily based at our Head Office in Northwest London, this hands on dynamic role will lead our sales and marketing teams. With the experience and gravitas to establish credibility quickly, this role will be significant in the growth and future success of the business.

Salary:    £100k OTE                         Based: Park Royal, Northwest London

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales: It is envisaged that 80% of the role will be sales development and management.

  • Responsible for the development and successful execution of Sales and Marketing strategies and activities, to drive growth in bottom line revenue and strong financial performance.

  • Overall responsibility for the performance of the company's sales targets and marketing goals, including the identification of new markets, innovation and business opportunities, with a focus on our exclusive agencies.

  • Leadership, and effective management of the Sales and Marketing teams.

  • Development of sales goals, objectives, projects and priorities, and the knowledge and ability to perform our Sales Manager’s duties, in order to assign territories, target groups, projects and self quotas.

  • Development and delivery of Sales and Marketing campaigns and promotional plans, and evaluation and coordination of sales activities, within all areas of the business.

  • Preparation and submission of plans, budgets, progress in annual sales reports.


Marketing:      It is envisaged that 20% of the role will be Trade Marketing management.

  • Overall responsibility for the Trade Marketing function of the business.

  • Oversee the development and successful execution of the annual marketing plan.

  • Management of the effective promotion of Amathus exclusivities (80% Trade Marketing) and profile (20% profile) of activity; through multiple channels, including on and off-line content, in store and wholesale promotions, events, social media channels and other marketing activities.

  • Analysis and interpretation of sales and marketing data, customer intelligence and economic trends to produce reports showing activity, results and ROI and enhanced sales and marketing strategy.

  • Oversee our e-commerce and online activity, including strategy, planning, merchandising, marketing, analytics, technologies and operations, reporting regularly to the MD and FD on status of e-commerce projects

Requirements and Qualifications

You will be able to demonstrate qualifications from professional bodies such as the Institute Of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM), Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Managing and Marketing Sales Association (MMSA) and qualified to a minimum of degree level, preferably in business studies.

You come from a strong FMCG background with 5+ years work experience at a senior level in Sales and Marketing within FMCG distribution, wholesale, retail and online environments.

You are a highly driven individual with a strong commercial understanding and full P&L ownership experience.

You will have strong, demonstrable experience of managing teams to deliver strong sales growth and marketing strategy, with extensive experience and knowledge of B2B and B2C sales and marketing activity. 

You can demonstrate a solid understanding of ROI, an ability to translate analysis and gain leads and insight in the market, to drive improved performance.

You are highly skilled in strategic thinking, with excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding communication skills; both written and oral.

You excel as a Leader of teams, with the ability to build long-term, high-quality, trusting relationships with key stakeholders.

You can demonstrate accuracy, long-term planning abilities, are able to organise and prioritise work to manage several tasks at once, with a focus on targets and deadlines, within agreed budget.

Resident within a 15 mile radius of NW10 7ST is highly desirable.
