Part of Nichols PLC, Vimto is a fast growing, highly focused soft drinks business; our brands include Vimto, Levi Roots, Panda, Sunkist, and Feel Good soft drinks. Present in over 70 countries worldwide, our household name brands and distinctive advertising have contributed to substantial growth well ahead of the market. Group sales have doubled over the last 5 years and the Vimto brand is now worth £110m, growing at 7% year on year with international business accounting for 25% of Vimto’s turnover. Our aim is to double again in the next 5 years, with huge progression plans and innovative new roles aiming to deliver growth. To meet our growth plans, we are currently looking for an experienced international marketing professional to manage a number of key markets in the Africa region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying opportunities for product development based on a sound understanding of consumer needs within local markets
  • Managing the end to end implementation of new product introductions to include concept, product and packaging development
  • To identify the requirement for consumer research and to scope and brief qualitative and quantitative research agencies for product, packaging and consumer communication projects
  • Development and management of brand guidelines and the international implications and adaptations
  • Ability to write and implement a strategic brand plan
  • Ability to develop and deliver consistent ‘look of success’ across all channels
  • Occasional travel for implementation work – e.g. assist with product launches etc.
  • Website re-design
  • Create / police annual marketing plans
  • Packaging design from concept and multiple route presentation to final artwork
  • Gift procurement
  • Monitor PR / social media / digital platforms
  • Evaluate markets – existing and prospective

The successful candidate will:

  • Have marketing budget management experience with proven track record of delivering ROI
  • Have experience of the market in Africa – experience in other developing markets would also be beneficial but not essential
  • Have international marketing experience
  • Be proactive and innovative
  • Embrace and drive change
  • Be comfortable presenting to large groups of people
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships
