An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of the UK’s leading wine and spirit companies. They boast an impressive selection of well-recognised, award winning brands and are currently gearing up for a very exciting period of growth. With an enviable variety of Wines, Champagnes and Spirits already on their portfolio, and a number of exciting new brands soon to be added this is a great opportunity to join a business at a very important time for them. They are now looking for a National Account Controller to develop and manage one of their major On Trade accounts as well as manage a small team.

As National Account Controller you will hold full P&L over the On Trade channel whilst directly managing their largest Route to Market customer and a small but dynamic team of National Account Managers. You will be expected to develop and implement the sales strategy for the channel as well as coaching and developing the members of your team, supporting them with negotiation and business planning. The team will be responsible for driving sales and volume growth and securing new listings across the UK’s largest On Trade Retail accounts including JD Wetherspoon and Stonegate.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to have experience at National Account Controller level, or be a Senior National Account Manager with man management experience, from within the drinks industry. Candidates from the Wine or Spirits industries will be preferred but applications from exceptional candidates working in the Beers, Cider or Soft Drinks arenas are also encouraged. It is important that you have a background in account management and have worked with On Trade Route to Market customers as this is a key aspect of the role. You will also need a strong understanding of the On Trade Retail customer base so as to successfully lead a team managing these accounts. This position requires a commercially astute, resilient individual with the ability to be self-sufficient and work very autonomously.
