Buyer – Fresh/Chilled

Leading retailer with stores nationwide is looking for an experienced to join their expanding team.

It is essential you are a strong negotiator and have food buying experience, e.g. Chilled, Bakery, Dairy or similar products.

• Key areas of the role will include:
• Negotiation of supplier trading terms to meet financial targets
• Identifying new product development opportunities
• Development of own label product ranges
• Competitor Analysis
• Continually sourcing new suppliers
• Setting promotional strategy
• Working cross functionally with other key business units

Applicants should have the following skills and attributes:

• Highly developed negotiation skills
• Food buying experience gained for a leading retailer/wholesaler
• Track record of negotiating with major manufacturers
• Excellent supplier management skills
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Strong commercial/entrepreneurial attitude
• Ability to work in a fast paced trading environment
