Catman Jobs are currently recruiting a Category Executive for one of the UK’s most respected food groups based in the East Midlands.

The Business

This £multi-million business have both branded and own-label products in the UK and are looking to recruit into their Category team as a result of increasing demand from retailers. This will enable them to meet current and future growth in expansion on to other product areas outside of their core category and ensure that they remain as one of the top players in the market.

The Role

They are now looking for a Category Executive who will assist the Category Manager on one of their key accounts. The role of the Category Executive will be to support the category manager in the development and implementation of category and shopper marketing strategies to drive category growth as a whole for the retailer. You will be involved in shopper marketing and insights, retailer presentations, data analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis and creating an environment for category captains on a consultative basis. 

The Individual

Ideally the successful candidate will already have a solid grounding in category analysis and data manipulation within an FMCG environment either as an analyst, account executive or already a category executive looking for a stronger progression route. Equally important is a driven can-do attitude and an analytical brain combined with the ability to liaise with tough buying teams within the Top 4 Multiple supermarkets. Working under pressure and delivering exceptional insights into the category will be paramount, combined with the ability to present market trends and offer consultancy to key retailers.

The Opportunity

This position will provide the right individual the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to move from Category Executive to Category Manager. The speed of their personal progression will be determined by their hunger to learn and their drive to succeed.
