This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commodities procurement professional with a strong track record of success within the food industry. As the Purchasing Director you will be reporting to the Board. This company is looking for someone to be responsible for the strategic and operational procurement across this multi-site operation.

You will be responsible for in excess of £40million of commodity based ingredients. A big part of this Purchasing Director role will be operational looking at; developing ethical and sustainable supplier relationships, controlling risks, forecasting prices and exchange rate fluctuations, whilst ensuring the long term strategy for the fruit and nut procurement is in place.

Candidates will need to have strong buying experience within commodity based products and be highly motivated and driven. People management experience is essential, as you will have direct line-management responsibility and we are looking for someone to develop strategic supplier relationships that really add value to the longer term needs of the business.

My client is a leader in its field, supplying both branded and own label products into all of the major multiples. It has invested heavily over the last 12 months and has strong plans for long-term development. This Purchasing Director role will play a fundamental part of this strategic growth.
