About Our Client

Smash is an innovative market leader that specialises in Back to School products but also has a vast range of products across many other housewares categories including Baby, Food Storage and Stationery.

The business has many years of success in Australia and has now embarked on a global expansion program. We are looking for an experienced Account Manager with a passion for product, and a drive to grow the business in the UK.

Job Description

The role of National Account Manager within Smash will see you report directly in to the Sales Director in Australia.

You will be able to work autonomously, and therefore you will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in Account Management at a national level, managing accounts across the top 4/ high street and/or other national retailers.

To be successful you will need to manage a vast portfolio of products and identify new business opportunities through strong customer relationships and sound category management skills.
 
The role of National Account Manager will also include but not limited to;

  • Negotiate and implement full range reviews across your account base
  • Seek new avenues of business to continuously grow your offering in the UK
  • Drive long term growth plans across your accounts
  • Work with a collaborative approach with the rest of the UK team to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Working closely with the sales, marketing, design and logistics teams internally to provide exceptional customer experiences
  • Co-ordinating and presenting range review submissions seasonally
  • Managing brand positioning within each customer
  • Monitoring competitor activity closely and report findings/ offer insights

The Successful Applicant

The successful National Account Manager to join Smash will already have relationships either within this sector (general merchandise/ non-food) or will be able to offer the current R2M/ account exposure but from a different sector.
 
It is essential that the chosen candidate will be energetic and out going, as this is a small business environment within the UK. The current team are open, personable and collaborative, so these traits are important for the successful candidate to hold.
 
The National Account Manager who is going to feel right at home within this environment will be able to be adaptable within their role and execution style.

This is an SME organisation and not a Blue-Chip, so an individual who is a self starter and very resourceful will find it a natural step.

This role entails a lot of ownership and exposure, so the candidate must love the sell and the feeling of growing both their account base/ relationships as well as their total portfolio within the market.

Up to £60,000 DOE + package
