As a Food Buyer you will work as part of an experienced buying team, with accountability for your own category. You will be involved in the strategic sourcing of products, working very closely with internal project teams and collaboratively with suppliers to ensure the business maintains its leading position in the retail sector.

Candidates will need food buying experience but not necessarily from the retail industry. Experience across a variety of food categories would be advantageous and this could be from a manufacturing or foodservice background. What is essential is loads of commercial awareness as you'll be expected to drive sales and market share, whilst delivering profit across your category. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential as are strong project management skills.
