Category Manager, Food Manufacturing, Lincolnshire

My client is part of a large food business seeking a Category Manager to provide insight to retailer customers, across a chilled food category.

This is an exciting opportunity, within the commercial team of a fast-paced provider of chilled food products. We are looking for an ambitious and proactive professional to work closely with the marketing, commercial and NPD teams to provide insight to the retail customer in a highly competitive food category.

The main purpose of this role will be to provide in-depth analysis from data sources - predominantly; Kantar, Nielsen and the retailers' own EPOS or Loyalty Data. Another aim for this Category Manager role is to develop a growth strategy for the future, with the designated retailers.

The ideal candidate will be degree calibre, ideally with experience of working with major UK retailers. You must be someone who can demonstrate comprehensive experience of insight tools with thorough commercial and marketing understanding.

You must be comfortable working at senior levels internally and with customers externally. As the successful candidate you will have a professional and personal interest in food and current food trends. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Tesco and a working proficiency of Dunnhumby data, would be highly advantageous.

This category is worth over £1 Billion in the UK food market and my client has a number of business units to cover the cluster of sub-sectors. This company supplies both own label and branded products into the major multiples, as well as convenience markets.
