Catman Jobs are currently recruiting an interim category manager for a predominantley own label food business in the North West/ Wales region.

The Business 

With a diverse chilled product range, this forward-looking food group is looking to out-grow and out-perform its competition in a highly competitive environment with significant product development. Category management will be key to this and will ensure that this development is headed in the right direction.

The Role

You will act as a key influencer between Sales, Marketing, NPD and the retailer. Delivering the category story to drive impartial growth across your category, your directive will be to assess, develop and drive the category solution within the mults. This will involve identifying profitable growth opportunities, expanding the range and developing client relationships. In such a heavily customer facing role you must be highly analytical with an understanding of the commercial environment. Reporting to the Category Controller you will be responsible for the total category management and promotional success for both branded and retailer branded solutions.

The Person

Client facing experience with the multiples and experience with Kantar, Nielsen or IRI is essential. The small team culture within this large multinational allows them to be flexible around the team’s strength, so you need to be comfortable with a huge amount of autonomy and ability to make the role your own.

The Opportunity

The intial interim period is a 6 month maternity cover however this could be extended. Or you may wish to use this as an opportunity to expand your newtork as a professional interimer.
