My clients are a thriving independently owned Food manufacturing business, established for nearly 30 years and boasting a turnover of £25 Million.

This company enjoys a reputation for delivering high class products along with outstanding customer service. 

Since investing in a significant expansion in their factory and facilities they are now placed to win new business across a range of market sectors and are looking to appoint a commercially astute Senior Sales Manager to spear head their anticipated growth .

Working with and reporting directly to Managing Director this is an exciting opportunity to join an established business and be part of a dynamic organisation currently in massive momentum.

Job Purpose

  • To develop and implement an innovative, growth focused Commercial and Sales strategy in line with the Company objectives. 
  • To develop, lead and manage all commercial and sales activities of the business.
  • To successfully manage and develop a team of Account Managers and NPD professionals in their respective account portfolios in order to meet company targets for retention, growth and profitability ensuring business growth is accelerated and that commercial success is achieved.

Key Accountabilities

  • Developing and implementing the commercial strategy for the business in conjunction with the Managing Director.
  • Understanding the drivers of the business and to identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow turnover and market share.
  • Coordinating the market research and analysis and producing business plans / recommendations (including all associated costs and forecasted revenue for the business), ensuring that all business development opportunities (new products, services and markets) are optimised.
  • Heading and leading of each new product or development, from innovation through to the successful implementation across each business function, to enable it to become a core part of the business.
  • Ensuring that regular reviews are carried out with customers, to ensure that their needs are being met and that excellent customer service is achieved along with developing future improvements / service.
  • Collating and analysing business data pertaining to all commercial and sales activities.
  • Ensuring that all commercial and sales activities meet or improve on budget, cost, volume and efficiency targets in line with the business.
  • Maintaining an awareness of external factors (including competitors) which will impact the business.
  • Representing the company externally, e.g. at networking events, conferences etc. to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile and optimise all business development opportunities.
