Based in the West Midlands, my client is a market leading multi-channel and multi-product retail business with stores throughout the UK and a fast growing on-line presence. They sell a wide range of products including health, beauty, well-being, sports nutrition, personal care and electricals. In order to develop their current product offering and maintain their position as a trusted and ethical brand they are looking for an experienced Buyer to aide in the growth of their key Health and Wellbeing category.

With responsibility for managing an Assistant Buyer, the job holder will take specific responsibility for the implementation and execution of the product category strategy through the management of the full product buying cycle including New Product Development, Promotions, Pricing and Range Architecture.You will be responsible for managing category performance against budget via the ongoing evaluation of sales, margin, availability and profit. You will also be required to work in partnership with the QA and NPD team to ensure that all products, both branded and own label meet the high standards set by the business.

* You will be a shrewd negotiator, able to deal with different suppliers in different ways to maximise results
* Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex data and use sound reasoning to solve problems as well as using in depth knowledge of the market to maximise sales and profits
* Able to influencing at all levels and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Must have strong retail market and product knowledge, ideally in a Health and Beauty or FMCG product category
* Must have experience of working in a high volume, fast paced retail buying environment
