Senior National Account Manager  –  Grocery Multiples

Our client is a privately owned, highly successful and leading £multi-million ambient foods company,  supplying a diverse range of high quality brands and own-label  products to the major Grocery and Discount Retailers. With a vision to become world leader in its core categories the business is investing heavily in both manufacturing capability and its people, including training and development, to ensure that the business continues to grow strongly.  The business is well-positioned with a number of  “Category Captain” partnerships already in place with their key UK retail customers.

As part of their people investment strategy, the company is looking to recruit a Senior National Account Manager to join their existing team of high achievers.

Reporting directly to the Grocery Sales Director the SNAM will take on full P&L responsibility for the account management of two strategically important customers in the Top 6 Grocery Retail channel. Your overall remit will be broad and varied and will allow you the opportunity to really hone your commercial skills in a fast paced, decision-making  environment  across both brand and own-label product categories. You will be fully involved in setting and delivering the strategy for your accounts, writing JBP’s, launching NPD, negotiating terms and pricing and maximising all opportunities for business growth.  You will work cross functionally and closely with colleagues in category, finance, supply chain, NPD  and procurement functions.

Of graduate calibre, you will have previous experience of working in a recognised FMCG brand or own-label food/drink business.  You are likely to be already operating at NAM/SNAM level  with Top Grocery Multiples or Convenience channel sales experience and now looking for a new commercial challenge. Alternatively your background experience may have been gained in a Buying role.  The business is fast paced and candidates with relevant experience in Produce or similar short shelf-life categories will be an added advantage.  In either case you must demonstrate the relevant commercial skills and the personal passion, resilience and drive to succeed as well as demonstrating your capability of progressing further within the organisation.

Candidate location is flexible, ideally  Midlands or South East with a requirement to attend the company’s Northants Head Office c.2 days per week.
