Buyer - Fruit & Vegetables

Excellent opportunity with this market leading distributor has arisen. The primary function of the Fruit & Vegetable Buyer is to order all products within the category, sourcing internationally and looking at best practice. This distributor deals with HORECA and Retail channels in a fast paced environment.

DUTIES:

• Sourcing Fresh Fruit and Vegetables. 
• Follow and uphold all freshness standards as designated by regional protocol. 
• Seek out new and exciting Fruit & Vegetable products and create and negotiate price bids. 
• Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, logistics, sales and marketing.
• Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding margin and sales targets. 
• Maintain accurate purchase journals and process invoices. 
• Educate customers and Team Members about Fresh products.  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fresh experience required (across Fruits and Vegetables)
• Excellent category knowledge with the ability to educate team members.
• International sourcing. 
• Good exposure to complex logistics. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Good organizational skills.
