Job Overview

The primary role is management of a defined number of National Accounts and Buying Groups, and the management of the Rodo field sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and profitability of allocated national accounts
  • Sales and profitability of each of the field sales team
  • Ensure all relevant instructions from accounts are communicated to and actioned by the relevant Rodo department
  • Sales forecasts (to line item where necessary) when required
  • Development of and delivery of 12 month rolling promotional programs for National Accounts
  • Identification and development of 1 new National Account or Buying Group annually

Job Content

  • Spend a minimum of 1 day every 4 weeks with each account / Buying Group
  • Spend a minimum of 4 days annually with each member of the field team
  • Liaise between marketing and the field team to provide market information
  • Provide reports to the Rodo board as and when required
  • Organise field training on new products or new product sectors for account branches, Rodo field sales team etc. as required
  • Calculate selling prices to customers; recommend and manage where possible “sell through” prices
  • Co-ordinate account marketing packages with Rodo marketing and accounts
  • Co-ordinate own brand livery / product production with marketing and accounts
  • Administrate and deliver customer specific product variations through the various stages of sign-off

The Individual

Qualifications:               

Whilst degree level qualities are preferable it is accepted that for this role experience and personal qualities are key. A good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft programs is required

Experience:               

  •  Extensive experience in a B2B environment, preferably in the home improvements sector
  • Management of and a proven record of success with a minimum of 5 different national accounts
  • Man-management of a field based sales team in excess of 5 people
  • Creation and delivery of national account presentations and packages from marketing through administration to final profitable sales

Personal Qualities:      

  • Excellent communication skills both up & down
  • Excellent analytical skills to allow for understanding and actioning of information
  • Excellent man-management skills with the ability to motivate and drive the field team to deliver agreed objectives and budgets

Remuneration:                 Salary and bonus competitive. Plus: company car, private healthcare, pension and IT equipment

Location:                             Preferably around the Birmingham area to allow for travelling both North and South.
