Job Title:  Sourcing Category Manager – Commodities 

Salary: 130,000 – 135,000 CHF plus Package

Location:  Switzerland

I am recruiting on behalf of a global branded FMCG business for a Sourcing Category Manager – Commodities to join their team. This role will be responsible for developing the category management of strategies for key commodities including commodity risk management, development of sourcing strategies to meet business needs and creative effective cross functional linkages to achieve category alignment.


Core Position Responsibilities: 


Manage the commercial, sourcing and overall supplier relationship management including partnership plans, HMM & NPD plans for key spend categories under management.

 
Functional lead and co-ordinate within EMEA sourcing sustainability initiatives. 


Work with the domestic and international sides of the business to leverage worldwide supplier relationships and buying synergies. 

 Make recommendations of commodities coverage positions to ensure material costs do not exceed Spring Plan standards. Ensure alignment with plants and WWS on commodity positions where relevant. 


Development of category sourcing strategies including supplier management and selection to ensure all suppliers meet the company cost, quality and service expectations. 


Deliver 5% HMM savings per annum for commodities under spend management. 


Work with WWS and Finance to explore hedging and other risk management options to better manage commodity risk. 


Ensure all dealings with suppliers are conducted with ethics and integrity and comply with the company’s corporate guidelines. 


Ensure all reporting of financial results meet GM requirements and work Finance to ensure transparency of numbers.


Qualifications 


Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Food Science or equivalent 

5 - 7 years’ experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement environment. 


Exposure to various sourcing courses including supplier management, negotiation & influencing, MRP11 Planning. 

Exposure to Food, FMCG or Pharmaceutical industries preferred. 


Demonstrated track record of strategic sourcing methodology & ability to lead supplier negotiations,

contracts and manage change processes cross functionally and with external suppliers. 


Commodity management and prefer hedging experience for agricultural commodities 


Proven ability to connect economic trends with business needs and marketplace opportunities. 


Demonstrated track record of productivity savings 


Previous procurement experience with direct spend categories across commodities, food ingredients and packaging preferred 


Understanding of quality systems, preferably HACCP & GMP. 


Computer literacy in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office.
