Category Insight Analyst

Based in our Bristol Head Office, the salary for this role is between: £25 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience (permanent contract, full time hours) and comes with a benefit package designed to nurture your wellbeing.

With our sustainable business practises and our mission to connect people with plants and the planet, at Pukka we are all here to make a difference.  Great companies are created by the people who work for them and at Pukka we are looking to recruit a passionate Category Insight Analyst to flourish in our growing Sales and Marketing teams.

In essence the role will be responsible for delivering insights from key customer and market data, to maximise the performance of our brand and help unlock further growth opportunities. This role reports to the Category Manager and responsibilities will include:

  • Becoming the expert in market, consumer and competitor intelligence, analysing regular and ad hoc market and customer sales data, and sharing in a meaningful way across the business;
  • Using internal sales data to fully understand Pukka performance & growth by customer, by category and by country;
  • Managing and running regular market data reports in order to provide accurate, relevant and timely analysis and insight on the market, including brand performance, competitor insight, NPD tracking and promotion evaluation;
  • Evaluating other in-store/online activity and marketing campaigns including digital and e-mail campaigns;
  • Collecting and communicating to the commercial and marketing teams relevant market intelligence covering retailer and competitor activities;
  • Analysing range and space allocation, making recommendations to improve category performance;
  • Providing ad hoc analytical support, delivering solid commercial arguments/rationale to direct and drive further growth of Pukka. 

In terms of who you are and what you might bring to Pukka, specifically you’ll have gained significant data management and analysis experience within an FMCG/Grocery environment – we don’t mind whether that’s within retail, marketing or a research agency. You’d be our perfect candidate if you’ve worked with IRI, Nielsen or Kantar market data and, even better also have Google Analytics and data tracking under your belt.

As a strategic thinker you will be able to see the wood for the trees, having used your advanced Excel capability and high levels of numeracy to analyse and interpret a mass of data. Your output will be compelling data based arguments which when combined with your wider consumer and market understanding and excellent PowerPoint skills will enable you to present them in straightforward ways that persuade people to action.
