Introduction: My FMCG client is looking to recruit a National Account Manager to take responsibility for their major accounts within the Grocery MULTs and High Street Retail channel.  Due to growth this new position has arisen and looking for an experienced National Accounts individual who holds knowledge and a proven track record in either confectionary or the bakery industry.

The Company: My client, based in the North West is a hugely exciting, entrepreneurial and ambitious business.  With a small but perfectly formed team, it’s clear to see the passion, determination and collaborative approach they take to drive the business forward.  I would describe them as fun, with a strong work ethic, capable of making some big waves in the market.

The Role: As National Account Manager you will take full P&L responsibility for a number of National Accounts including Tesco and Lidl.  You will:

  • Build high quality and purposeful business client relationships in each designated account, focussed on generating sustainable sales growth and the enhancement of the Company’s professional business reputation 
  • Grow and expand the Company’s national and major multiples account portfolio
  • Contribute to the Company’s overall Sales Team performance through the building of a sustainable sales growth profile, the maintenance of satisfactory margins, and including specific attention to increase the distribution of the Company’s licence portfolio
  • Contribute as a member of the Company’s Sales Team to the continuing development of the Company’s overall sales proposition including the introduction of appropriate innovation in professional sales practices
  • Establish, build and maintain effective and efficient collegiate working relationships with each of the operational units within the Company. This includes building a close and positive working relationship with the New Product Development Team, with particular attention to professionally managed project launches and high standards of product literature

The Candidate:  Successful candidates will hold all the attributes needed of a strong National Account Manager.  You will have operated in either FMCG or Consumer Durables having gained experience in either the bakery or confectionary sector.
